Having graduated with honours in his MBBS from the University of New South Wales, Dr Walker was awarded the Zimmer Traveling Fellowship and undertook fellowships overseas in world-renowned hip and knee surgical units at the Brigham and Womens' Hospital in Boston and Toronto Western Hospital. He is heavily involved in research and teaching, and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles especially in the field of hip and knee injuries and replacement.

Dr Walker is internationally sought after, and frequently lectures and gives presentations to surgeons and other health professionals around the world.
